Thanksgiving ’10.. Nine Days of Journaling!

November 25, 2010

Saturday, November 20, 2010

Today I am really thankful for getting a long nine-day break. Even though our DSA teachers gave some homework to us  it’s okay we gotta keep busy even though we’re in break. So I am really excited for my break because I believe that we deserved it especially the seniors in DSA because of GreenBizz. We have been working so hard these past few months especially the CEOs like me l.o.l. I believe that Thanksgiving is not just a time of giving thanks but a time where it’s not Christmas yet, and families are already coming together. I definitely cannot wait to eat all the delicious food my family members will prepare for our Thanksgiving feast!

Ever since my mom’s back pain became more severe and she had to leave to Mexico to get a surgery, me and my older sister Karla stayed home alone for about five months. During this time I learned to appreciate my parents a whole lot than I used to. Now both my mom and dad are back and I am extremely grateful for that. I missed them a lot and now that we sit at the dinner table like a family again is the best thing ever. Just to have your mom and dad there by your side is the best, because I have felt what not having them for a long time feels like and it really sucked for me. I am happy they are back again and hoping it’s the last time it happens. -love you mom & dad :D

Today I am very thankful for having a huge family with six sisters and three brothers. Although they get on my nerves sometimes because since I am the youngest they want to treat me like if I was a newborn still. But I love them greatly each and every one of them. We are a big, helpful, and supportive family and that’s what I love about them. We all care for each other and I think that’s a beautiful thing we all share, is the love and respect we have towards each other.

In my life I am thankful for having a sister like Karla. She’s an extraordinary person, she loves helping others, and I am just glad she’s in my life and I know I am not the only one who believes this. Karla is always there for the whole family, whatever they need they always go to her because everyone knows she’s someone who’s caring and willing to help out in anything. That’s why everyone loves her and our family gatherings and everything else wouldn’t be the same without her jokes and smiles. I don’t know what we would do without her love and support, she’s a very special person that everyone loves. :) What would I do without cayita, cayita.

I am so happy and thankful that my sister Marisol will be celebrating with us Thanksgiving this year, she will be arriving tomorrow at 10:00 am from Anaheim, California. We haven’t seen her in a very long time, probably since last September. The whole family is excited to see her and see how big her kids have gotten since the last time we saw her. Having her there is going to make our Thanksgiving dinner extra special because we are going to have almost the whole family together, except Angelica which resides in Milwaukie, Oregon. But other than that I am really grateful for this family gathering, because it’s not everyday that we have these unfortunately.

I am thankful for all the Latinos that have made an impact and have accomplished their goals in the United States. My favorite one is the Mexican astronaut Jose Hernandez. He is the son of Mexican immigrants and with his hard work and dedication made it to NASA and has become a national hero to the many people who know what’s like living here and starting from zero in a new country. Jose Hernandez had to work hard in his studies to make his dream become a reality, and he’s definitely a person whom I look up to. He is also from the same state as I am in Mexico, and to me is a symbol of “si se puede” when you work hard and believe you can touch the stars.

My father, one of the greatest persons I have in my life. To me he is my hero, and the person I mostly trust and look up to everyday. I am thankful for having him as my father. He is an amazing human being, and not just because he’s my dad but because all of his struggles and accomplishments have made him my role model. I mean raising ten children and working in California in the fields. and not living with his wife and children just to give them a better tomorrow is something not everyone is able to do. In my life will I ever meet someone so strong and special like the one who raised me and that’s why I am extremely proud of him and grateful for all he’s done to give us the life my family has today.

I am thankful for the Thanksgiving dinner we had on Thursday. It was one of the best days ever. We had a great meal which involved a turkey of course. Almost all of my family was there, so we were all talking and just enjoying our family evening together. They are just moments you wish could last forever, when your with the people you love the most. And I am very thankful that I have lived many moments like these in my life. Moments were I have seen all of my brothers and sisters united and happy. Spending time with the family is something beautiful.

Today I was reminiscing on the days I was in Mexico on September 2010. I am really thankful that I went even though I missed a lot in school. But I spent days over there that are just unforgettable. I met many new people and met family members I had never seen in my life! I was very surprised to find out that one of my cousins was going to get married too. Anyways I am hoping I get to go next September, if not on December. I just love going to visit Mexico because it’s really fun and I can always do what ever I want, it’s great. I am just anxiously hoping I get to see everyone new I met in Mexico this year.

My Identity Video!!!

February 22, 2010

I had a great experience while working on this long semester project, because I learned so many new things. I had fun recording all the shots of this video, and it became one of my favorite parts of the Identity Project. At first I didn’t want to perform it, but when I changed my mind and finally did I felt really good about myself and especially proud. The best experience I have to say was when I performed and my mom was there to see it. I had a great time and memories that I’ll never forget. :D

I am really thankful for having the mother I have. She’s always there for me, no matter what. She’s my real friend, the one I know would never let me down. I can always trust her with anything, and she always gives me advice, although I may not take it sometimes. I really don’t know what I would do without her. Because when I am feeling down she’s the one who keeps me alive. Love you mom!! :)

I am very thankful for the movie ”Twilight”. I went to watch it yesterday, and it was awesome. The movie is great. I had lots of fun, even though the people that I went with had to kill it, I am totally not thankful for that :( . But other than that I loved the story, and I think I am going to start reading the books. It’s an inforgettable movie. MUST WATCH! 8)

I am thankful of being who I am, thankful of my Mexican heritage and culture. Coming where I am from, Michoacan, Mexico. Because I love my culture and everything about being Mexican, that’s what describes me and my ways of living, my customs. My heritage and nationalism towards my country, Mexico. Thankful of being born there and raised there for five years, I got to know much about my Mexican ways!

My Family..

November 24, 2009

Family is,
heaven sent from our father above,
bonded by the power of love.
No matter what family has each others back,
when push comes to shove.

Family is,
understanding, never demanding,
all for one and one for all,
I will never leave you alone standing.

Family is,
one in itself, my love is your love,
your pain is my pain, my wealth is your wealth,
I promise to never leave you by yourself.

Family is,
the strongest team, the strongest unit;
if love could be visualized,
family would be the blue print.

Family is,
forgiveness and patience,
it’s sweeter than the sweetest fragrance,
the power of family is a reflection of Gods compassion and magnificence.

Family is,
never turning our back, and never shames,
lend my helping hand and not a finger pointing the blame.

No matter what a family bond can never be broken,
even through a nuclear explosion,
if one of us lives we all live.
Forever to eternity, we are family,
my father, my mother, my sisters and me.

My First Photography Experience!

September 18, 2009

I experienced so many things doing this, because now I know how to take good pictures. I also know how to determine the difference between a really good picture and a not so cute one. Paloma is one of my best friends so we helped each other out with this we took pictures of each other and we helped each other decide which ones the good ones were. At first I had trouble because I thought I knew how to take good pictures… but I had no idea! Now I feel more prepared and ready to learn more about photography. What I want to improve on is my experience in using photoshop, because I want to learn how to handle it better, and learn new tricks about it. I am proud of my pictures, because I tried hard and hopefully I did better than the last ones I took.!! :)
